Leading with Purpose

In addition to the gorgeous campus, I chose 51³Ô¹ÏÍø because I wanted to go where people would see my potential and help me to grow. This has absolutely been the case. I have found a very supportive community here.

I have been involved at WGRE, 51³Ô¹ÏÍø’s student-led radio station, since my first year, and have experienced several different roles – from being a DJ to station manager. I think if I had not attended a liberal arts college, I would not have been able to experience as many radio leadership roles so quickly. 51³Ô¹ÏÍø is lucky to have WGRE, and I am so lucky to be a part of it.

It was always my dream to moderate a political debate, and I got the opportunity to do so through my work in the WGRE news department. In spring 2022, I moderated the Putnam County Sheriff candidates debate. It was an amazing experience, and I never thought I would be living my dreams so soon.

The 51³Ô¹ÏÍø faculty is absolutely incredible. It would be hard to pick a favorite professor because so many of them have positively impacted me. They have connected me with so many opportunities including receiving the prestigious scholarship from the Broadcast Education Association and being accepted to the New York Arts Program.
